I am looking at getting a new tractor. I have a ranch/farm of about 200 acres and use my tractors for all the common chores: bushhogging planting/cultivating, baling hay, road maintenance, etc.

I am considering the Kubota M6800 with a front end loader. I currently have a Ford 4600 that I will keep also, but am getting rid of a Ford 3600, International 354, Case 930, and even the International Cub. The newest tractor is an '80s model so I am not too familiar with the new ones.

My question is what is the best 60-70HP tractor for the money in your opinion. I have read many good things about the Kubota.

I can't speak for kubota but my dad bought a JD 6020 about 3 years ago and it is an excellent tractor. It has a FEL and MFWD with shuttle shift I think is what they call it. It has 4 ranges with 4 gears in each range and a directional lever on the left side of the steering wheel. It works great for FEL work and baling hay. I have severe allergies and can even bale. The cab is amazinly tight. ....

I like the John Deere 5320 & 5420. Nice machines that come in a package the right size and offer hp all the way up to 89 hp. if needed. ....

The Kubota would exceed all but the 930 for brute power but would be very equal for pull.. The Kubota would be far easier to learn and is an excellent tractor. ....

My neighbor has an M5700 (a shade smaller than the M6800). It is a wonderful machine. He is an older guy and has had many different machines. He likes this one the best. I can't speak for the other makes, but you won't be dissappointed with a Kubota.
